Day 1 : Welcome to Bangkok
Touch down at the airport, ready for the start of your culture school trip to Bangkok! You’ll be greeted by an Adventure Leader, who’ll help you transfer to your accommodation and check in. Along the way, they’ll also provide your group with trip briefing, running through the trip itinerary and providing tips on remaining safe while travelling and adjusting to local culture.
Once you’re settled, we’ll take you for your first glimpse of the city – and what better way to do it than from the highest observation deck in the entire country! We’ll pay a visit to the iconic Mhanakhon Tower, where we’ll get incredible panoramic views from 314m in the air.
Back on solid ground, we’ll head to a local night market after dinner in search of handmade crafts, quirky souvenirs, and delicious local foods.
Day 2 : Palaces, Temples & Markets Tour
After breakfast this morning, we’re heading out bright and early to spend half a day visiting some of Bangkok’s most important complexes. Along the way, we’ll visit Wat Pho, the city’s oldest and largest temple, that’s famous for it’s 45m long ‘reclining Buddha’.
We’ll end up at the remarkable Grand Palace, the city’s most famous complex which dates back to the late 18th century. Here, we’ll discover the Palace’s many magnificent buildings, including Wat Phra Kaeo, which contains an emerald Buddha dating back over 700 years.
While here, students will get the chance to speak directly to a Buddhist monk with a Q&A session on temple grounds. They’ll learn more about the livelihoods of monks, meditation practices, and gain wider insight into the role of Buddhism in Thai culture.
Following lunch, we’ll to take to the water for an exploration by longtail boat of the legendary Chao Phraya river. Along the way, we’ll pass temples, markets, and traditional Thai stilted houses, and we’ll end our experience by visiting one of the city’s floating markets to watch local vendors work – and try some of the local snacks!
Back at your accommodation, you’ll spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure after a busy day.
Day 3 : Bang Krachao tour
Deep in the heart of Bangkok lies Bang Krachao, a man-made island that’s become a natural oasis in the metropolis – it’s referred to as the ‘Green Lung of Bangkok’. We’ll spend much of our day today here, kicking off with a morning cycle through winding paths, local markets, mangrove forests, and serene parks.
After lunch, we’ll take part in some of the island’s community-based learning activities, eco-tourism intiatives and cultural exchanges. With opportunities for rice planting, sustainable farming classes, basket-weaving and silk-making, there’s plenty of immersive ways to connect students with the local Thai culture.
In the evening, we’ll head to Thanon Yaowarat (Yaowarat Road) – the heart of Chinatown. Approximately 1.5km long, it’s full of street food stalls and provides a chance to see the Chinese culture of the city in action.
Day 4 : Ayutthaya Day Trip
Today, we spend a full day journey out of Bangkok to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ayutthaya – an ancient capital that one stood at the heart of Siam. Renowned for its majestic temple ruins, giant Buddha statues, and historical sites, it offers a glimpse into the country’s rich historic, religious, and architectural past.
